Default Power Steering Pump/Hose repair?

I am leaking power steering fluid badly and can see that it's coming from under the reservoir. I can't get to it to see. What do I need to remove to get to that damned pump? Anyone have a step by step or a PDF of the repair manual?

Doesn't help too much. I know how to change it but do not even know where to begin to access the pump. I can't even get my hand in there let alone pliers and tools. My leak is under the reservior on the passenger side of the vehicle. Not the driver's side as stated in the e-how post.

Look at this site:
| Repair Guides | Power Steering Pump | Removal & Installation | AutoZone.com

Simple job, remove front wheel, inner fender splash covers, radiator, move A/C compressor out of the way...LOL

I found that Auto ZOne link moments after my last reply. Never thought I'd have to drain my engine coolant in order to simply get to my p/s. I don't know if the leak is an o-ring, the reservior, or what.

Regardless of what it is, I have to take the whole thing apart anyway to fix it. This is my last Chrysler product. They look great but are poorly designed under the hood.

I once had a Chevrolet that you had to either drop the engine down or drill a hole in the wheel well to access plug No#8. Ford has cars that HAVE to go back to the Factory if work is needed on the engine (Yamaha head) and come to think about it, the same thing applied to the Corvette ZR-1.

Ok Crewzin, I'll stop complaining. LOL I miss being a teen and working on my '80 Buick Regal, or my '81 Caprice Classic. Everything could be "get at" from under the hood and you have enough room for 6 or 8 of your buddies to be under the hood with you.

I've never done a flush on my PT, I've have had a shop and/or dealer do it. Any suggestions from the experienced on how to proceed?

That's true, but you had to work on them more often - I remember points & rotors, adjusting valves and carbs.... no longer.

I paid to have mine done - I have read of those who took a hose off and and ran the car having it pump itself out, and others that dropped the pan and got half the fluid - messy because there is no drain plug.
