Default Does this sound like a hose leak?

Have an 2002 PTC, and it appears that the coolant is leaking. Kept noticing small orange dry spots and wet spots on the ground. Checked all of the fluid levels, and they were fine...Guess it needs to go to the shop. Hope it's nothing too costly. Any one else have this problem before?

Has anyone ever had a leak before? Sure, the car is 9 years old. Radiators rust, hoses go bad. Doesn't take much under pressure for the fluid to push it's way out. Put a pressure test on the radiator. That should show up and small leak.

The plastic radiator is probably leaking. They start to leak at the seam where the plastic meets the aluminum core. You will need to do a more detailed inspection to verify.

After the engine is COOL, check the thermostat housing cover (that's the pipe sticking up that has your radiator cap on top of it). Your radiator cap may just be leaking. However, since you're in the vicinity, shine a flashlight lower down on this thermostat housing cover to where you see where the thermostat housing cover is attached by two bolts to the thermostat housing. This is where my leak came from. The thermostat seal was kaput. It will be all red and crusty-red if this is the case, especially around the bolts and lower down on everything below this junction.
