Default Release/Throw out Bearing.

Ok , I am like 99% sure the throw out bearing in the PT is on it way out.Cause it makes noises when the clutch is in that goes away when it is out.It started off as a very slight noise mid last week an has gotten way worse by today.

Anyways , My question in all of the pictures of the clutch kit. It shows your clutch/plate etc , Along with the bearing and what seems to be a release mech.(I cannot find this part/name online)

So my question is what is this part (lower left corner) with the lines coming out of it called , OR is it a all in one unit with the release bearing (Alot of pictures do not show it like that they just show a bearing. ? )

(I will most likely be doing a whole new clutch if funds allow it .)

Yea I know WHAT the throw out bearing is.I am trying to figure out what the part with the hyrdraulic lines area if it is seperate or if it is part of the bearing cause only the clutch kit shows the part with the lines .

Sir, I **THINK** for your year it's conventional if it's not turbo- That is there's a clutch fork coming from an external cylinder-
IOW, your picture is wrong.

It'd be EZ to verify- Open the hood and look.

OK that is the picture that Autozone's site(since napa doesn't show pictures) has up for the clutch. (Dummy me didn't think about it just being a generic picture)

BUT , now that you do say that I do recall seeing the slave cylinder on the lower front of the bellhouse/tranny when I change the oil.So I guess that mea ns I do not have to worry about find out what the part is (assuming it is justa hydraulic "fork" per say now.)

Thanks Alot,
-Eddie

Though the part number you have up says till 2000 , the car is an 2003.
Either way it the bearing is going to have to be replaced asap.

Can anyone give me some more insight on this ?

The clutch sets that autozone/advanced carry are like the ones I have pictured.I can seethe clutch slave cylinder an what appears to be the clutch fork coming out of the lower front end side of the bell housing.

BUT I cannot find the correct clutch set , if the one I have pictured is incorrect.

Any help would be great.

How about this - just to make it easier on us all, go to the Tech section and grab my thread about PT Publications, pull down the parts catalog for your year PT, and there you go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to know the model of the tranny you're using, there are only to, the T350 (non-turbo PT and some turbo-lites) and the G288 (Getrag tranny on the GT's), they are both in the same catalog but the TOB is different on them.
