Default Cruiser not posting any codes, firestone recommends dealer.

mileage 161,201
Hey im having some trouble with my 01' Limited Edition. It's been collecting dust for about two months. I just had a chance to get it looked at. Firestone says its not posting any codes and recommends taking it to the dealer for possible pcm replacement. What is happening is that after driving stop and go for about 20 minutes the car will idle down and cut off at the stop light if I dont put it in neutral and keep a little throttle on the gas. I have read several post about the idling problems, does anyone know where i should start at to fix this? I figure I would do some upgrades under the hood in the process of trying to get my cruiser road ready. Let me know what you think...

My plan of attack is as follows:
K&N Air Intake or Airaid system
Intake manifold
Catalytic Converter

I would suspect the IAC motor 1st. It's in the throttle body, and controls the idle. Easily removed and cleaned.

I am considering getting the Catalytic Converter replaced this weekend. I was wondering how much i should be spending for that? I got one quote so far for $517 part $60 - $75 labor. I'm located in Columbia South Carolina if anyone has anyone recommendations on who to take my car to.

That would be a wast of time at this time. It wouldn't exhilarate if it were stopped up. Turbo Is on the right track. It's something in that area. Clean MAF sensor as well.
