Default 03-up engine in a 2002 PT

So I bought a engine from speedway motors only to find they are for 03 and up! Is there any way to make that engine work in my 02? What I heard is the crankshaft sensor is the problem. Any ideas will be very great full

Both the crank sensor and block itself have different part numbers from 2002 and 2003. The head, however, is the same.

The sensor is part of the 'NGC' (next Generation Controller) so,
you'd need that PCM, and wiring if different.

I can kinda figure out old Neon PCM's, can't help you on something that new.

My guess would be it's easier to resell engine, but guess only

You'd be better off taking that engine back and finding an '01 / '02 engine. The 2.4 out of the same year (4 Door) Stratus / Sebring is the same block.

Yea speedway won't take the motor back because they say it was for 03 and up even though I asked they guy and he said yes! So it's for sale if anyone is interested!!! Anyhow I put the old engine back in and the codes I'm getting are P0351 and P0352. I only wanted to do the swap because the motor has over 180K

Mileage doesn't make much of a difference on engines anymore.
Change time belt, water pump m a y b e e a headgasket.
Rod bearings are EZ if it starts to get a little noisy (except 2.4's have that balancer thingy)

UpTownSport is right, these 2.4's are tough engines.

Those codes you are seeing reference a coil, or wiring to the coil problem.
