Default Sluggish and enigne light blinking.

Well we bought an 05 GT convertible for my wife and family fun car a couple weeks ago. All seemed fine. Today on the way home from work the car started acting sluggish and wanting to stall out on her. Also the engine light is blinking and staying on. It sounds like a fuel issue but reading about where the filter is on these things I want to hear if there might be something else. I am not sure but would a stopped up filter cause the light to come on? The car has just over 90k miles on it.

Please help me out before I drop the tank.

Is the engine light blinking or staying on. According to the owners manual, if it's blinking you shouldn't use the car but get it diagnosed ASAP.

Quote from the manual: The light flashes to alert to serious conditions that could lead to immediate loss of power on severe CAT damage.

I just came across one of your posts a while back about how to pull the codes. I tried turning to the on (not start) position 3 times but got nothing unless I did something wrong. However the engine light did blink 10 times. I tried a second time to confirm this and got the same off/on sequence count.

And it is in the garage and my wife drove it about 10 miles so hopefully not to much damage is done.

Came across this thread and not sure how many blinks this person got but from what my wife said it sounds very similar.

Okay got the codes to pull up and there are several so here goes:

P0016 is Crank and cam out of sync
P0300 Engine Misfire Detected
P0315 Crankshaft position system - variation not learned; Engine mechanical fault, wiring
P0339 Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Circuit Intermittent
P0517-battery Temperature Sensor High
P0522 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage

So what is the verdict on these codes?

Added what the reasoning is I found behind each code. Also when searching found some suggestions of resetting the computer and seeing if the codes come back. What step should I take first on this? Looks like some car work this weekend.

I will add that I don't know of the service history on this car. I do know the carfax showed a few times in for routine maintenance (oil change/emissions check) stuff. And I would reason that if they took it to the dealer for minor things it would pull up anything major on the carfax report but not sure.

Way too many codes for the first time. You need to pull the negative battery cable off for about 5 minutes. That clears the old codes and resets the computer. Then put it back together and drive it to see what new codes (if any) show up.

I like that solution. I just hope little if any return. But will report back.

Well reset the codes. And was going to take it for a test drive and put in reverse and it died. And can not start it at all now. Checked the code for the heck of it and only got P0517-battery Temperature Sensor High.

Now what? Tow it in and spend lots of $$$ or is there something else I might be able to do first?

Not what I was looking for in a fun car.

Is it possible the fuel pump died and it is getting no fuel?

It has just over 90xxx.

Will look at it when I get off work. Would be nice if I could fix it instead of paying a dealership.
