Default Spark Plugs

Anyone tried iridium spark plugs and coresponding wires offered on sparkplugs.com?
I would be willing to pony up the bucks if I thought it would help performance and gas milage.

Don't know about performance but new plugs have helped a few of us with rough idle and off the line lag. Here's a write-up from another forum:

Thanks CREWZIN, I think I will give them a try in the spring when it is warm enough to spend the time as it looks like an involved process.

Personally I would wait. Denso is supposely redesigning the spark plugs to be dimensionally/physically correct. That means no need for a special socket or special spark plug wires. It has been mentioned before that if you lose/misplace or even break the special spark plug socket or need to replace one or more of those special length SP wires, you are pretty much out of luck. If you read that article, they left the gap at 0.040, not regapping them to the OEM specification of 0.050. So naturally it would seem to run better. You could gap any other plugs or even your present plugs at 0.040 and get the same results they got.

After reviewing the comments here I think I will wait and see if they come out a plug that fits better.

Not as bad as the "back three" on a transverse V-6, but the worst 4 I've ever done.
Go to PTDoItYourself.Net and see - I used the "shortcut method", propping things up with a wooden stick to save disconnecting more stuff.
I would suggest doing wires at the same time - the stock wires gave me a miss, so I did Crane wires (Race and Street), (had already done the platinum plugs) heaven't missed a beat in 30-40,000 miles (have 70,000 + miles on my PT now).
Your money, but why go with plugs "jury-rigged" to fit, when there's the Champion platinums?
Few more tips - check the gaps before you put the new plugs in - mine were off quite a bit "out of the box".
Get "anti-seize" and put it on the plug threads. Get "dielectric grease" and put it on inside & outside of plug wire boots to keep moisture out and keep boots from sticking to engine and plugs.
