That's very disturbing! I can see it with oiled foam, but he states K&N!!! Anybody care to comment? [:0]

read on bmw foroum same thing regular bmw filter let way less dirt thur than kn .belive irpt has that link

I guess it's a personal decision, for me, I'm going to run with the drop in filter from K&N. If I lived in an area with dirt roads or in a construction zone I would use the paper and change them more often.

I just wanted to make us aware (again) of some of the research out there on the topic.

I want to do the intake silencer removal, and add the k&n drop-in. DO I HAVE TO reset the computer. I don't want to!

No you don't. I never did. Resetting can't hurt, but after a while the computer will notice any changes anyway.
