Default K&N Drop in filter

Should I disconnect my battery after installing a K&N drop in filter and removing one of the two silencers? Where is the other silencer? How do I change it out.

I got the white cylinder one out, now I can't find the other.
How long for the battery disconnect.

Yes you should. The silencers are built into the airbox.

I usually disconnect my battery for 5 minutes.....The other silencer is part of the snorkel on the right at the bottom of the box. If you take it out and cut it flush with the inside of the box you will still have use of the snorkel to bring in cold air from the fenderwell but not have the silencer part that you cut off.

I disconnected my battery last night for only about 30 seconds. Will that do it?

I have never seen it written down but I bet that 30 seconds might be long enough to zero out the puter for U!! It is just that while you are doing it why not just wait a few more minutes and be certain!! My guess is that if it is long enough to screw up your radio it might be long enough to do the same for the puter, maybe!!

Unfortunately it didn't screw up the clock, so I guess I better do it again.

Thanks

Follow up on this post... do you need to do anything special for the PCM to re-learn what it needs to, or does that just happen with normal driving? Though I read something about starting and accelerating through the gears 3 times in a row???
