Default Change injectors?? OR???

Turbo 03 w/ 105000mi.
Was running perfect until I had the bright idea of adding injector cleaner.
Engine light on. Code Misfire Cyl 1.
Cleared up w/o any work.
Occured again. Same code. Changed wires and plugs.

Ran fine until yesterday.
Major misfiring at lower RPMs and acceleration. Once at speed and cruising it runs smooth. Codes PO300 and PO304.

Thinking of changing injectors.... any suggestions before taking that on??

Replace plugs, and inspect injectors, you can replace the tiny screen.

They act like filters...also you can have them professionally cleaned for $60 a set.I used them a couple of times and they are pretty good and friendly. And they get them done right away.

SouthBay Fuel Injectors

Tell them "Gus", with the orange PT cruiser sent you.

Didn't know about those injector screens?

is that an aftermarket product or is that oem equipment on the pt cruiser?

how do you service them?

can you pick them up at a normal parts store like autozone?

I have similer symptoms. used sea foam in gas tank....vehicle has probably never had injector cleaner used before and now have intermitent stumbling/jerking feels like I don't know how to drive stick but the rpms are over 1k during the stumbling/jerking. Most noticeable during wide open throtle and merging onto freeways. happens in all speeds and engine speeds.
even at times causes engine to completely stall.
every now and then with clutch fully depressed vehicle will lose rpms during idle and eventually just stall out.
doesn't happen on a regular bassis but happens enough to be annoying and more then just a fluke.

currently I have been thinking it is either due to spark plugs and wires, the fact that the engine mounts are worn, or on the extreme side vacuum leaks.
I haven't thought of fuel until now....after the sea foam treatment and using chevron gas strickly, and no weird gas mileage flucuations it just didn't come to the forebrain.

Bosch injectors (were) very, very reliable.
Us Neon people have had them for 100's of thousands of miles, and getting to be almost twenty years now.
Being on the nat'l neon site for years, I don't recall anyone ever complaining about a bad one!

Obviously things can change, a buddy (Who can and does wreck anything) claimed his fathers PT went lean due to a bad injector and smoked a cylinder.
At the time, (because he had somehow wrecked the original head) he had an old Neon DOHC head on it with the NEW STYLE SPARK PLUGS!!!!!!!
(PT Plugs are about 3/8" longer, so they stick in the combustion chamber!!!)
So now he's on his 3d head!!!!!

These screens are OE, you can compare from screw (I assume used to extract screens) size. You can buy these from e-bay; I'd suggest getting Standard Motor Products from Rockauto regardless of price.

I will say I've taken dozens, and dozens of injectors from OLD cars, I've only seen a few that have ANY sediment in them. I've never had a complaint from the dozens I've sold.

The short of it;
1. Complete systematic troubleshooting, DON'T focus on one thing unless you have a good reason to do so. Trobleshooting performance problems is essentially the same from model T to the newest vehicle rolling out today.
(Download the PT FSM, search google for 'PT Cruiser FSM download')

2. Follow owners manual for suggested service, I've NEVER cleaned a fuel injector, gasoline and alcohol, as you know, is an excellent cleaner.

Foreign chemicals can and do ruin sensors, such as the O2
