Default Newbie Questions

Hello,

I keep hearing people refer to the PT cruiser as a Neon? Is it just another body on a Neon Chassis, same engine? I have also heard that Neon's are prone to head gasket problems, is this true with the PT cruisers? Thanks

There are some parts shared between Neons and PTs, but they are different cars. I owned 2 neons and 2 PTs.
Neither PTs nor Neosn have an excessive problem with head gaskets - and the only engine that is shared is the trubo on the SRT-4.

Ditto Don. He's almost always right (almost, unless we disagree..hhahaha). Not sure who on the planet would refer to a PT as a Neon, personally I think the Neons are one of the ugliest vehicles ever made, no offense intended Don.

I just had the valve cover gasket replaced on my n/a 2002 PT, with 58,000 miles. Not a hard or expensive job, and the car sure runs a lot smoother now, especially in cold weather.
