Default Info on Catch Cans

I am going to put catch cans on my PT and here is the question: The oil that is already there, the car is an 06 with 41K, when I put the cans on should I clean out the manifold and the K&N intake pipe? Is there a product that I can buy to do that job or is it a manual job of wiping it out. Also I guess I should see a lot cleaner tail pipe because less oil is going into the intake manifold. In the old days a white tail pipe was a really good thing. Steve

You can wipe down intale pipe, but unless oil is excessive, I wouldn't worry.

I'm of the same line of thought - I bypassed my make-up air return to a K&N type filter as I couldn't find a good spot to mount a catch can, nor have I found a nice looking and affordable catch can. If anyone with an '06 or newer PT out there has one installed, would you please be so kind as to share your story with us and maybe photos? That would be greatly appreciated!

Panel, thanks for asking this question, I've been meaning to for a looooong time.

I talked to XWing777 at Return to the Beach and came up with the double Catch Cans, probably an over kill but I am mounting the brackets to the upper cowling above the firewall, on both sides.

You might be interested in this thread;

Any help ID'ing this block?

When these engines first came out, they had a sophisticated PCV recovery system (1995 model year). These bosses, undrilled, remained on the block until 2000, I think. The '95 had a plate inside so the bungs wouldn't be exposed to oil whip from cranktrain.

They didn't use them on the DOHC because intake manifold wouldn't allow it (one of the posters mentions this) but, the PT has room under manifold.
