Default water pump replace question.

Has anyone replaced their water pump without having to remove the cam sprockets to get the timing belt back cover off? can it be unbolted and moved over enough with out removing the sprockets? I'm doing the timing belt and pulleys while I'm there.

Thanks guy's

The cover will need to come off in order to remove the pump.

You will need to remove it. You should also replace the cam seals. You really don't need any special tools to remove or install them.

I purchase an inexpensive cam gear holder from Harbor Freight. It worked fine.

You can just use a socket and extension to lock cam gears while loosening bolts

And the photo is wrong, I think it's now 10mm
