Default Synthetic oil in a turbo PT? What do you think?

Wondering what the general thinking on the matter is. Weigh in, Chrysler doesn't seem to like it. My owners manual says no!

They don't want to use synthetic because if you use it, they wouldn't have any work at their service departments, replacing turbos....

No question about it, use synthetic with a turbo and unless your trying to save money, use it on the non-turbo PT's also.

Mine says synthetic is perfectly acceptable as long as it meets the Chrysler Spec and is proper viscosity grade.

Synthetic is the way to go.

My guess is the change in attitude in later Pt manuals centers around a little greenmail. (license fee)

I went to WalMart and was looking in the oil section, Pennzoil now has another new synthetic oil out. I normally get the premium 5 X 30. This new one says it cleans the rings and cylinders better ?? Changing my oil between 3 and 4 K miles I don't think it is needed, if someone else has seen or used this new Pennzoil, tell me what you think.

Is it the Platinum or Ultra?

I think latest spec is SN.

I stocked up on Ultra last year was 5 qts 15$ after10$ off with instant coupon.

Good oil and supposedly good detergents, high TBN

Totally agree... there has been nothing but Mobil 1 oil and filters in my PT since I bought it.

The one I use is the Platinum, the new is the Ultra. I have used Pennzoil for a lot of years now and use a Mobil 1 filter. Just don't know if it is worth the extra bucks?
