Default crankshaft position sensor veses knock sensor

05 pt 5 speed non turbo having trouble finding the crankshaft sensor the manuals say its above the oil filter but its not so i did more looking at other pt web sites (i know mistake) and they show it being near the starter in the front of the engine but when i looked all i found was the knock sensor where the heck is the cpk sensor or are they one in the same cause when i went to check prices on the sensors they look totaly different

Yes sir,

Both are correct, your year crank sensor happens to be behind the starter.

The knock sensor is also near the starter on the front side of the engine. They are different.

Buy a crank sensor.

The sensor you'll want to replace will look just like it.

I replaced my crankshaft position sensor Yesterday. It went into Linp mode when I pressed on the Gas. Kept getting an engine light I hope its fixed.Then got my Interrior light working after not having one for about 110,000 miles. Went to Florida March 1st, 2003 when I got back it wasn't working .

thanks all dont know why i didnt bring the question to u all earlier i have been a member for sometime now u will all be first in the future.
