Default PT service life ???

I have owned Saabs and Subarus and driven each for over 130,000 miles without any major problems or oil excessive oil consumption. I now am interested in the PT light turbo or GT and would like some feedback as to long term reliability for these cars before I buy. I do not race or abuse my vehicles but do enjoy some spirited driving on occasion. eddie

Reasonable question, Erhayes - I know where you're coming from - I bought a '92 Dosge Spirit new and put 195,000 miles on it before transmission refused to shift (auto).
There's only 1 PT owner I know of (on another forum) that passed 100,000 miles - without major grief.
I have 70,000+ miles on mine now with no problems other than a slight ignition miss I cured by replacing plug wires.
There are no guarantees.

I am really not concerned about the engine in the GT. It was "purpose built" for the turbo with strenghtening in the block, piston sprayers etc. My 2 previous turbo cars went to 180,000 and 210,000 miles respectively. Now I don't know about the periferals of the car though, the wheels may fall off well before that.
