go there, checked the key code thing and it was

Did you use a mopar part from online or a dealership or did you buy one from an autostore.

Mopar electrical parts are the only ones that work for a long amount of time typically...

Rule of thumb, only buy mopar electrical parts.

If you did then id suggest taking it back and complaining

I had the wiring harness problem on mine. It goes from the sensor all the way around back of the engine and held up by little plastic clips. One or two of those clips let go and let the harness drop down enough so the harness actually touched the spinning half shaft and wore thrrough till the wires burnt.

I was in the middle of South Carolina so had it towed to a dealer and they pulled the same code as you. They said $200 to fix and I was too far from home to say no and while the mechanic was about to change the sensor (with harness) he found the burnt wires. Put them back together, shrunk wrapped the harness, reattached it to the engine and only charged 2 hours labor. Been that way for about 5 years without another a problem.

Bryan, please check my responce to the "Camshaft sensor again" post that was put up by ABrown around 6:13 P. M. today. It explains what I think may be your problem. Hope it helps.

No problem. I hope that's it. It would be my next logical step. I put the part number and approximate price in the other thread and yes, that's what it is called, a "camshaft position sensor magnet".

I'm just guessing, but It's probably because 99 percent of the time just replacng the sensor with a new OEM sensor will cure the problem. The magnet would only be needed if the sensor alone doesn't fix it. It's really inconvenient when the magnet is needed. Maybe now that someone has mentioned the next possability, owners will choose to do both at the same time. It's literally a crap shoot, but the odds are with the sensor alone first.
