Default help with man trans

Today I got in my PT and I could not put it in reverse. It feels like there is a solid block when trying to move the shifter into reverse. All forward gears are working. Where do I look?

No expert on manuals but see a lot of talk about the bushings. Check for something underneath blocking shiftier travel. I'm sure the experienced will chime in soon.

Busted is right on.

Order some 'booger bushings' off e-bay, there's a narrative in how to replace here, try 'how-to's' link in my sig, if not search.

Jeff will also sell you only two if you don't want to change them on the shifter end- contact at booger racing .com or something

Is there a pic where I can look at and see where the reverse linkage is?

Yes.

Someone (possibly Chromenut) has a great pictoral how-to.
You could try links in my sig, or search.

Get the bushings on order ASAP, they'll still make it b4 weekend

Bushings not a problem, I have bugger bushings. I cannot get the trans to shift into reverse and cannot see a reason so far.

There are two lever atop the T-350. They are where the booger's were installed, at end of shift cables.

They got thru the case:

Inside linkage is pretty straightforward.
Upper right rail (in pic) engages reverse and the input shaft 'brake', trips rev light switch.

Rev gear is in cavity on lower right.

The gear engages between first and second on forged-in straight-cut gear on input,
and gear on output's 1-2 'dog'.

It's a fairly easy transmission to service, new and used parts are readily available.

I will note reverse failures are unknown- I'd double check everything else unless you're just itching to take the trans apart.

And it is a N/A?
Turbo's use a different trans, then you're on your own.

Non turbo, I don't want to take trans apart. Was just seeking a logical starting point to look. I was hoping someone had this problem in the past. I changed to bugger bushings two years ago and love them. I'm not really a mechanic, but I have had just about everything inside the car apart. Guess I'll have to remove center consol and look at shifter.

Booger's go on with difficulty, sometimes they're not pressed on far enough.
On may have fallen off and you're back to having an MT cable end
