Default Gurgling noise under hood.

Hello, I have a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Edition.

Recently, after I have started my car and driving it for 1-2 miles, I start to hear a gurgling noise in the engine, possibly boiling water, so I check my overheater meter, but it is still staying in the middle, not going into the hot zone.

What is my problem? I'd like to fix this before I have to take it to a mechanic.

First, go look under the hood of your PT and check the coolant level in the reservoir located on the firewall just behind the engine and make sure you see a liquid level between the FULL COLD and FULL HOT lines. Look for the simplest things first.

Not to bring in bad news but exhaust gases escaping into the coolant can make that noise too, head gasket if thats the case.

Or a bad radiator cap... The list is endless!

So can air bubbles if the coolant was allowed to get too low and air was drawn into the system.

My 03 has done that. it stops after you fill it to the proper fill level and all the air is out of the system. Luckily my reason for losing coolant was a hose clamp just be sure to look for leaks. Good luck

Is there a bleeder valve for the air to be let out

Yep, right under the thermostat housing. Looks just like a brake bleeder fitting. If you put a long hose on it before you open it, any coolant that comes out can be directed into a container, instead of all over the engine.
