Default Dual exhaust installation help!

Maybe someone on here knows the answer to my delima. I want to put dual on my 2008 Cruiszr but everything I see is $500 plus for the parts not counting any install charges. A fellow member memtioned that he just purchased a Borla dual exhaust system for his Cruiser and when I looked at the ebay listing it said 01-06. He got the system for a little of $300 which I thought was a great price.
Can someone tell me what is the difference between the 01-06 compared to the 08 with respect to the exhaust system or line.

I would really like to install duals on my car, but can't seem to find anything reasonably priced.

Thanks for your input.

they don't make a kit past 06 for a PT. (can't tell you what the difference is, maybe someone else will chime in) Cat-Back

also CHEAP and BORLA aren't really words that generally go together. finding a borla kit for $300 for any car is pretty impressive

To tell you the truth, you could do better by going to an exhaust/muffler shop and have them build you one themselves. I got quote $425 for full 3" stainless cat-back with resonator. Still considering it.

Trying doing that, but the two shops that I went to told me that I would need to get the dual exhaust kit and they could install it.

I don't think is anything different between the first to second generation...plus if it fits the 06, it will fit an 08.
I saw Borla selling the dual system on Ebay..well is a left over Mopar system, but is the same as the Borla...so you know for sure is nothing but the best...btw, I had one of those systems for a few years on my wife's car then sold it a few weeks ago and the system still looked almost new.

Ohh and the installation is pretty easy...about 1 hour or 2 max, and you only need a 15mm and 10mm wrenches...

Would this Borla system be too restrictive for a 2003 GT. GT is basically stock 5 speed running a DSP. Upgraded to composite intake and larger injectors.

Thanks in advance for your advise,

Roy

You need to find yet another muffler shop.

If they're telling you that you have to buy a dual exhaust system for them to install it, then I wouldn't really consider them an exhaust shop.

A real exhaust shop will have all diameters/types of steel pipe available to bending/cutting/welding.

It cost me $100 for my Magnaflow resonator alone but I got 2 1/2" piping from the downpipe to the resonator, and after the resonator cut/welded/installed free.

Before I sold my Borla system, I took it out of my wife's N/A and put it on my GT for a few months and pretty much it felt the same way as running the stock GT system but just a little louder.

Had my pipes on my 2010 done at a local shop. Cost $250 but was just too loud so I paid them another $30 to fix the noise. Now have a nice sound. Any good muffler shop should be able to build you a nice system.
