Angry Steering wheel locked/key wont turn!

I tried to get in my car last night, and my key won't turn. I've tried jiggling the steering wheel, which usually works, but didn't this time! Tried various methods, (jiggled wheel/key at same time, just key, took key off keyring, pulled out a hair, turned key over, pumped break, etc) Yes, the car is in park, and yes it's the right key. We do not have an owner's manual with the car! It's a 2002 model, if that helps.

Hang in there Amber, I'm sure someone will be along to enlighten you. Myself, IDK why, surprised pulling the hair out didn't help though

Thanks. Yeah, I just want to set it on fire or something. Couldn't have happened at a worse time! and there is no owner's manual, so idk.

soft copy of the owner's manuals for all years/models is available in the tech/performance section, one of the first stickies titled "library". As to the keylock, is your car parked on a hill?

Try holding the steering wheel all the way to the right, pull hard, then try the key. If not, pull hard to the left and try again. If you're on a hill, it can cause this issue sometimes. Can you shift into neutral? If so, hold your foot on the brake, shift to neutral, loosen your foot on the brake, see if you can shake the car into moving just a couple of inches, then back into park. See if you can now move the steering wheel to free up the ignition.

Now, if this works and you get it free, the cost of my advice will be one nude photo.....LMAO yust yoking, darned olde farte pervert!!!

Have you tried turning the steering wheel hard back and forth while attempting to get the key in and turned on?

This happened to my bro's car the other day.

Either key/tumbler or both were so worn that it wouldn't turn-
We removed the protective plastic, loosened the T10 (security) screws and somehow got tumbler to turn.
Drove home, put in a JY tumbler, replaced lock mechanism, it's been fine.
Like yours, this didn't come out of the blue.

there's also a small bakelite rod that seems to lock up tumbler, it's ~$25 from Rockauto.
