Default Radiator fan question

My wife just tuned her AC on today and her car shutters at idle and air is warm until moving again.I checked the fan and it's not working at all.I can change it but I noticed a lot of people seem to get the fan off of Ebay.My question is,is the one on Ebay better than one from AutoZone or any other parts store?

Thanks for the quick replies. She decided she didnt want to wait so we got one from AutoZone. It's a little more expensive but it has a lifetime warranty and we live about a mile from AutoZone. My wife is really bummed because this is the first problem the car has ever had.Now I have to get my hands dirty.

is it a lifetime warranty for a DIY install? My radiator had a lifetime warranty also but it only was valid if installed professionally.
What year and model PT?

It's a 2005 Touring.I have always done all my own repairs and have never had a problem returning anything under warranty.

I finally got around to changing the fan today. It only took about an hour and 15 minutes thanks to CREWZIN's sticky. Now the air is ice cold even at idle and there's no more shuttering.

Good stuff!

I've never had a problem with warranties when it came to stuff I bought from Autozone or O'Reily's, but it's definitely something worth asking about next time...thanks OurPTGT. I'm always about DIY as well on all my cars.

Im about to tackle the same task sometime next week. Will probably need to replace 1 or 2 of the ac lines as it had built up pressure and like a cloud of smoke come out from the passenger side. Pretty cool.
