Default what will work??

I just bought another 02 base cruiser. got smokin deal $400, was told had blown head gasket. yea that and busted block. my question for you wise people is. will the long block out of a 2002 sebring work? as long as is not the mitsu 2.4. i know i will have to change external parts. thats ok. the reason i ask is junk yards want 900-1500 for a pt motor and i found a 02 sebring for 500 with around 100k miles.

With 100K, you might as well put a new timing belt on it while it is still out of the PT.

I think Harry is referring to putting a timing belt, etc. on the 100,000 mile, $500, 02 sebring block that is apparently intact.

The answer is - Yes. If it's a 4 door Sebring 2.4 engine, it's the same block. You will need to change the oil pump, oil pan, as well as all of the other accessory brackets from the PT block to the Sebring block.

I've done it - twice.
