1596 is "speed control switch - always high voltage". That refers to your cruise speed control. It usually comes up as a result of a "clock-spring" failure. It's inside the upper portion of your steering wheel. It is ---NOT---I repeat NOT something that someone that is not familiar with airbag repairs should even think about attempting. The horn, etc. also work off of this "clock-spring". The air bag has to be pulled to change out the "clock-spring" and the air bag is very dangerous to work with!!!

PLEASE take it to a dealer or trusted mechanic to diagnose and/or repair.

If you are a good mechanic and want to attempt this repair, buy a Haynes manual and follow the directions on pages 10-11 10-12 and 10-13. It's got pic's (illustration 16.8) and "everything". I've had my steering wheel (air-bag) off several times with no dire results, but as I said, be careful!!!

Jerry
