i replaced the water pump and belt on my 01 2.4 cruiser .Problem is i can't get the timing marks to line up. I have the motor jacked up but it is on a angle and can't seem to line them up i did read the other treads on this topic but got no info on this prob.

Pete-

When you replace the belt, with the timing marks on the cams lined up with the arrows up (tdc) the timing mark on the crank should be just on the edge of the tooth where the timing mark is on it. In other words the cam marks will be lined up on the cams but the crank mark will be about a half tooth off (I think it's on the trailing edge). Make sure you turn the crank by hand 4 times when you re-check it or you can be 180* out. Hope it helps. Let us know.
