i have a 5 speed na 2001 pt. i've filled the passenger side mounts and the car feels much better, however it still has a little bounce/clunk to it. i still want it to be stiffer.
is there anything to be done(or not to be done) to this trans mount? do they offer a performance replacement or insert? the car has 240k miles and i drive it pretty hard, so i'm pretty sure it's shot. if not from my driving, teaching my girlfriend to drive stick is definitely providing some extra abuse. ![]() Last edited by rob342; 21 Jun 2012 at 11:10 am. |

bump.
nobody has ever replaced or filled this? i have a weird clunk and i don't want to mess with trying to remove this if it's not my problem. the top and bottom mount are filled. the A-arms need new bushings, but those make a different kind of sound. |

I've never heard of one of our tranny mounts going bad. I know you've probably already done this, but I'd put it up on your lift and check ALL of the many rubber/flexable components in your suspension and steering. There is also always the possability that the real passenger side, middle motor mount bolt has snapped.
