Default Grinding - Accelerating from a stop

I finished up the install of the driver side axle. I topped off the transmission, then I took it out for a romp, all good, no noises.

I get home and check the fluid level, just needed a 10th..

Wash up and got ready to leave with my wife. We drive off and there is that grinding sound from the passenger side. It only occurs from a dead stop to acceleration, then goes away. It definitely sounds like a bad bearing that rumbles under load.

Okay..today is here...

I put the car on jacks and began my inspection. In park, I check to see if there is any odd play. Nothing...nothing between the axle and transmission, and nothing between the axle and hub. I then inspected the hub bearing, check for any side by side play, up and down....nothing. I put the transmission in neutral and began the same process, but in addition, I spun the wheel hear for any noise....nothing. So, I pulled out the stethoscope to listen even closer....almost nothing. I can hear a little weep from the hub, but no grinds!!! I then turned to the transmission listened for anything...nothing!!!

So, I pulled out the passenger side axle took it apart. All the bearings are in good shape, I see no shaving or anything out of place. I guess I should clean off all the grease and take it FULLY apart.....ugggg.

Too add....this happened only when my wife was in the passenger side. So, that tells me if there is more load then something is definitely slipping, by some means.

Could it be the diff bearing or even the diff itself!?!?!?

Okay...more questions...if the diff is going out, wouldn't it just chatter?.....(grasping at straws at the moment)...

If I were you I'd check the upper and lower torque struts, just for giggles.

That was the ISSUE!!!

It was the lower mount, under the A/C. The Energy bushing insert strap broke and the constant pressure from the rear insert helped the bolt back off. I cant really tell, but it looks like the main pulley or the A/C pulley rubbed against the frame. All belts look good...

Check the tranny fluid level and topped it off. Then...took it for a romp (with my wife in the passenger seat).

All is back to normal!

No....she never gets on....pheww....

No aftermarket, just a K&N and a mod box...that's all.
