Default At what temps does the fan come on?

When should it come on on Low Speed and High Speed?

It seems to only come on when the AC is on. I'm watching it right now on my ScanGauge II and it is 200* and no fan action until I turn on the AC. Then the fan kicks on and the temps drop as it should.

Personally, I would have though the low speed should have come on long before 200. but I don't know for sure. Never seen it in writing.

I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom until they are flashing behind you.

It just hit 207 and I heard a faint fan sound. Sure enough it was on. Turned on the AC and it sped up. So low speed at 207*?? Something ain't right...

According to this, the only thing that controls when it comes on is the PCM.

But we all know the A/C controls and the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor have something to do with it.

Thanks to Uptown, your fan seems to be working normal. Except that I disagree (no matter what it says) about no low with A/C. My low certainly does come on with the A/C. Proved it several times.

This might be a good solution to the many problem post and threads I have read about electric OEM fans.
Most of the ECU or thermal relay controlled electric fans always seem to be more AI (artificial intelligence joke) then pre-set.

Easy to install and affordable.
This is one I like and use but there are a few on the market similar.

Take control back into your electric fan....

With all the problems with fan controls here- It just makes my small head spin- that might be a good idea.

Engines LOVE to run hot, so don't get concerned if temp runs high-
I know we were all brought up on 180 degree 'stats, but even Smokey Yunick said competition engines (Running WOT) were best at 220-

Our intake isn't as tied to coolant temp as old V-8s

Secret: There's an 'e' FSM floating around-

see Chromenut or search google- Great Summer reading- Won't be able to put it down!!!

Crewzin', as you know, I don't actually know anything, just repeat what I've read. It did sound odd that low fan wouldn't run, perhaps it was only in context of cooling system section?!
