Default Wheel Stud Replacement

Any tips how how to insert the Wheel Stud? I tried screwing it in but it does not go in. I purchased the right stud. Is there any tips? Trying to save some money from the mechanic.$50

try placing the stud in the hole then tighten the lug nut. that should seat the stud. then remove lug nut and put wheel back on.

As soyomb just said, put the stud in from the back (if you can) put a lug nut on and screw it down until it pulls the stud all the way through the plate.
