I bought some concept neeper isis 18 inch and the back of the rim is touching my brake caliper. Has anyone else had this problem? I know that you can use wheel spacers, I just don't know where to get them. Any help would be great.

Brian,
You might want to try a vendor that distributes H&R suspension parts/systems. Like shox.com or something of that nature. H&R does cater largely to the euro community. But I have read in other car magezines such as MUSTANG 5.O., SUPER STREET, SPORT COMPACT CAR, EUROPEAN CAR etc... I hope this helps. I have seen spacers made by H&R and the quality is real good. I am surprised that you got rims that rub.Usually the vendor sets you up with the corret offset so they DON'T rub. What is the offset of the rim? It should be stamped on the backside of the rim on one of the spokes. The way offset works is the larger the number the more rim you have going towards your engine. The smaller the number the more rim you have pushing out awayfrom the engine, persay. I hope this helps. Gman 8D] |

I put 18x7.5 35mm offset Konigs w/ 235/40/18's. You may have the more common 42mm or 8.5" width (?) that's contributing to the clearance issue. If you look at the PT's hub, there's not much of a lip there to run a spacer without losing important hub support... that is to say your rims will only be supported by the five studs without the aid of the hub.

I think the German company, CruiserTuning.de has what you are looking for under exterior items. They are a great company and their product get to the USA in about 3 weeks time. Good Luck.....

If you can't understand German, atleast these's a nice picture that shows the assemply w/ hub lip. Actually, this looks like a wheel adapter (vs. the simple spacer you're looking for) that would, for example, allow a PT to run BMW 120x5 wheels. I looked into this idea before buying my Konigs but the cost was beyond budget. |
