Default HOAT problem in the UK

Ok guys here's the situation.
My local Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep main dealer has stopped stocking the Mopar
HOAT coolant.
They're offering 'an alternative' which is an OAT 5.
Now I'm just about to put my PT back on the road after nearly 3 years hibernation, so a total flush and refill of the cooling system is one of many jobs that needs doing.
Thing is I don't think I'm going to be able to get any HOAT anywhere.
The service manager has said OAT 5 will be fine and that they are using it in all their servicing jobs, but I'm not sure? Dealer blah blah?
What's a boy to do?
I'm thinking maybe go with the old 2 year green stuff (IAT?)
and just change it regularly.
Any advice?

As long as you use one kind and don't mix with other types. There all good. I will be bashed for saying so but I've seen no issue other than when mixing other coolants together. Aluminium, cast iron, and plastic don't know what car maker it's in.

According to the second thread in the "SIMILAR THREAD" section at the bottom (MOPAR/HOAT anti freeze discontinued.....just in Europe) of this thread, there simply isn't any HOAT antifreeze allowed in Europe anymore. His service manager is right?

According to google, they have been using it in Lotus, Land Rovers, etc., etc. for awhile now. So I suppose if done correctly, by removing ALL old coolant first and then replacing with OAT 5, it should be fine?

Ooops, Did do a quick search before posting, but missed that one.
I've given it some thought and am going to go with the good old fashioned green stuff and just change it every 18/24 months.
I do 95% of my own spannering anyway so it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks for the opinions fellas.

Howdy Fellow short or flat tracker,

You may try contacting the distributors of the different antifreeze companies and talk to their chemist. Get the information about what you can use in place of HOAT right from the source?

side note. Many moons ago lol I ran black plate in short track AMA District 36 for a few years in the 100cc and 250cc class on a Factory Elsinore.

Thanks for the replies fellas.
I'm flushing it thoroughly this weekend and going with an OAT 5.
Probably won't leave it in 5 years tho
That's just lazy!

Hey Nitro, good to hear about your 2 wheeled exploits.
I'm guessing you're going on my avatar....
That's Eddie Lawson, not me!
