Question 2006non turbo p t A/C problem!!

Please help!! I have had PCM CHANGED previously and new fan is on as well as thermo recently a/c quit working and car would die when idling with a c on, now blows hot air only, had mechanic check it out and he says all switches are good and clutch is good as well as fan so may be PCM AGAIN SINCE no power is going to clutch or fan! Need some advice before buying more parts!

Could be an array of things. Did he check the low and high pressure switches? I would think it would be more of an issue with the TPMI if everything else checks put.

It stands for the Total Power Integrated Module. It controls the entire electrical system and also monitors it. If it detects an issue or thinks there is an issue it will shut down the circuit. Once the issue is corrected it is supposed to reset. Problem is they dont. They were problematic on the 2006's because it was the first year they switched to it. You may have to take it to a dealer and have it reflashed. Some cases they have to be replaced which is very expensive. I would verify all wiring and relays are good before committing to taking it to the dealer.

Ray Is correct on this. The TIPM go bad on the 06's and it is an expensives to replace. As Ray says, try a reset first
