Exclamation HELP!!

I went on a weekend trip to see a friend graduate from Basic. Well I was driving home today and I got literally down the street from my. The speed limit is 60 so I was in 5th (car is a standard with 72*** miles on it).

Well I get to the entrance to my neighborhood and the stick will move out of 5th, BUT it is stuck in 5th gear.

So just to break it down more: My car is stuck in 5th gear and the stick will move while it is in 5th.

Ex: I can move the shifter into where 1st gear is, but it is stuck in 5th gear...

Please help this is my DD and I have to drive about 60miles to get to school this Saturday...

Thank you,

Jimmy

Open your hood, remover the air cleaner housing, batter and battery tray.

Look at the cable ends, they are eyelets and have groomets/bushings pressed in them.

If they look bad, order some Booger bushings and replace the bushings.

can get them at Turbos unleashed, FWD performance etc

Smile Re: HELP!!

Well I pulled the console like Liquid over at PTCrew told me and the shifter linkage came undone... So I just popped it right back in. After that I decided to see if it would just pop off and it was hard as balls to pop off. I am assuming it has been on the verge off popping off for a cool minute now. Also I checked the bushings and they looked brand new. So Idk how it happened...

I will look into my Engine bay tomorrow (for it is dark as I am typing this) and I will probably go ahead and order the boogers tomorrow from ModernPerformance.

They're in Texas and I'm in Oklahoma so the shipping is within 2 days.

Thank you for they advice Maxxxed and VNT! Appreciate it!

Regardless, I'd go with Booger Bushings!!! I did mine a year or so ago and boy did they make a difference in shifting.
