Smile Funny Vibration w/Acceerator Pedal

Howdy. I'm just into 45 days after buying a used 2006 Touring Edition w/80K. I'm quite impressed with OA performance. However, occasionally, I seem to get a 'shimmering' in the accelerator pedal. Really strange. Chrysler dealer says that this is an issue with many PTC's, not all, and they don't know a fix for it.

I really like this ride otherwise and can live with the issue, but if there's a fix, I'd like to know about it. I don't expect to be driving too many more years but really want to keep my PTC in best shape as possible until we both ride off into the sunset.

Thanks for any & all info.

Your dealer is full of crap. No car should do that. Best thing to do is take it to a place that can lift the Pt in the air so the car can run and all the underside components can be looked at. Wheel bearings, motor mounts, ball joints and front suspension should al be checked over.

First, open the hood so you can see the engine from the drivers seat. Give the motor some gas while keeping your other foot on the brake pedal and see how far the engine moves. If it moves quite a bit, one of the motor mounts is bad.

I'm thinking motor mounts (struts), too.

After all those have been ruled out. Maybe a trans filter and fluid change. Most likely never had one done.

I have the same problem with my PT. It once was just noticeable at 65+mph when I bought it with 17K miles, but grows pretty significant even at 35mph in the last few weeks. It's just 42K miles now.

I checked the engine in Parking mode, it does not vibrate too much. At its relatively low current mileage, the trans fluid is still ruby red, I don't think it's the trans problem, but I am not experienced with cars.

Some mentioned it could be a problem with CV or TPS.

I may have to visit a 5 star Chrysler dealer next to my residence in the next couple of days.

I had the same problem when I bought my car. Had to get axle and wheel bearing replaced. Runs fine now.

what is the typical cost to replace a CV at a dealer's shop? I may have to do that.

My wallet is quite squeezed. So I should avoid a dealer and go to a local mechanic to do it?

I have a funny or not so funny vibration at well from 45-85mph

I have changed ever rotating part with no change in noise/vibration.

I wish you luck!!!

- both wheel bearings 2x now 1 set in Oct, another set this past week, no change.
- both front rotors and brake pads, no change
- moved the front tires to rear, rear to front, no change
- changed the left CV Axle, no change
- changed the right CV Axle, no change
- Everything else up front is new from control arms to sway bar bushings and end links to strut mounts to engine mounts toooo....tooo..... etc

Not sure what is left.............I just drive it now hoping for it to get worse.
