Default cooked charging system wire(s)

my wife's 02 pt cruiser charging system went out over the weekend... I replaced the generator/alternator (not too bad if you cut off the exhaust ear on passenger side under the heat shield, and pull it through the top), and put in a new optima red top.... I did find the wire coming from the starter to the alternator, and its cooked. where can I find a replacement? I know the wire should go from dark green to black with white stripe, but its cooked, and useless.....
thank you in advance!
p.s. this site has been very useful thus far!

is there any other cars that might share the pt cruiser power train setup?

you could fabricate your own. get some wire at a hardware store of the same gauge and solder and crimp connectors on the ends. use the cooked wire as template for the length. should be tons cheaper and less on gas.

There's instructions in the FSM (Just, looked though, can't find them for you) on fusible link replacement.

FSM lists a 6 gauge wire, with a 10 gauge fusible link. You'll have to duplicate link length.

Thank you everyone! I had no idea what size that fusible link had been prior to it grounding I assume?(I placed a temporary fuse box with a 30amp fuse in line, and it Pope immediately) I'm off to the parts store right now!
