Default Help anyone?

My name is Skotty and I just bought my first PT 3 months ago. It is an '09 with 30,000 miles. This week the engine light came on and it started jerking and running rough. I parked it and the next morning the engine light was off and it ran great again. This has repeated three times now. Anyone have any clues as to what it is before I take it to the dealership shop?
Thank you for any feedback.

Once the engine light comes on, a fault code is stored in the computer. You can get the fault codes stored in the computer by following the directions below. That will help us help you in finding the problem. Did you get any guarantee with the cruiser when you bought it 3 months ago? Always a good idea to get some sort of warranty with a used vehicle. If so, let the place you bought it from help you.

How to retrieve fault codes.

It's possible that it may still be under warranty, too. If you provide the last 8 digits of your VIN I can run a warranty check for you.
