Red face Overheating Problem on My 2003

Dear PT Cruiser Lovers,
While I am new to the forum, I have had my PT Cruiser since 2003 and it has become a family heirloom with a commitment to hand it down family member by family member until it falls apart. In this regard, I have a desire to keep it in top notch shape which brings me to the problem.
It appears that the intermittent overheating problem is nothing new to many of you and I need your help. I have had a new radiator and cap installed as well as a new thermostat. The cooling system was flushed and new water and antifreeze put in. It stills overheats intermittently. By my own process of deduction it looks like it now must be the fan motor and/or the PCM module. Here are three questions:
1. Is this a logical conclusion?
2. If it is the fan will one of the aftermarket fans I see when I Google search okay to buy or should I by an OEM part?
3. Do you think it could be the PCM module?
Sometimes it will overheat and sometimes not , so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
ProfessorB

It's not a GT is it? They use a different fan that is very expensive. Second, what makes you suspect the fan. Can you here the fan running when the AC is on?

If you haven't replaced the fan, I would suspect that. You've replaced everything else.

If you have a non-turbo, check both fan speeds, using the Sticky on the first page of this forum (Tech and Performance).
