Cool Vacuum Issue

My check engine light is on. I went to Autozone to get codes. They gave me: aa1,aa2, aa3, aa4. One of the parts guys told me the common problem on this 2007 Pt Cruiser is the Esim (not sure if that is spelled right.) valve goes bad. He said it is under the car near the big black box near the gas tank. I jacked the car up and dont see what he is telling me. Any suggestions?

Those codes don't make any sense. Do the key dance to get the actual codes. The guy you talked to doesn't know what he is talking about. Come back with actual codes and we can help.

And maybe introduce yourself while you're at it.

The codes are bogus, the vac pump he's talking about is on the gas tank. But without the right codes it's a crap shoot. Check your vacuum lines. Start with the big ones first, follow them to there conclusion were possible.

Default P0440

Most of the time it is your gas cap sealing capacity has deteriorated and will not completely seal properly. They are cheap enough just buy a new one. You can have yours tested but I am sure that's what the results will be. Most every thing else would need an experience level to inspect and check all having to do with your emissions system. Given that your PT is a 2007 it is not likely anything else but not to rule them out. Remember to clear the codes after any fix or repair.
