Default Air intake changes? Help please!!!!

Okay, I want to get an aftermarket intake for my 2003 Pt Cruiser. I am debating between the Injen Short Ram Air (IS series) or the K&N FIPK. What is really confusing me though is they say the injen works for the 2000-2001 pt's. Is there ANY difference in the intake or anything with a 2003? I don't have the turbo. Someone please give me some insight on this. Also, which intake would yall go with?

First of all, there is no such thing as a 2000 PT Cruiser.
Even though production began in March 2000, they are all 2001 model year cars.

For 2002, the make-up air hose was moved from the flexible rubber intake hose to the lower airbox body. This may be the difference they are trying to compensate for.

Bloxstudios, welcome to the forum. I'm not familar with the Injen Short Ram Air but I do have the K&N FIPK on my Cruiser, I really like it.

Welcome, Bloxstudios.
MX-5 knows his stuff, but he's saying no difference 2002 to 2003 for non-turbo.
To your question - I'd go K&N. They replace more of the intake tract (you have to move the air sensor to the new intake - be gentle with it). Not familiar with the Injen. I have the AirAid - it was cheaper, and leaves the ribbed rubber hose to the throttle body that the K&N replaces. Is there a huge diffference? Probably not, so if money or looks are a deciding factor, got with it.

If we are voting I vote for my K&N which I have on my 03 Turbo and yes replacing the entire box and connections does make a difference more power and more noise. Pay your money and make your choice!
