Default Question about my engine.

Lately my cruiser has been jerking at times when it's idle. At the same that this happens all the lights on the dashboard and needles/gauges go crazy. Feels like it's stalling out.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default first thing to check...............

Check your battery leads. Check all your ground cable or straps points. Maybe even while you are looking around plan where you will be installing a few more needed grounds.

More possible solutions for you soon to be posted by our friendly forum members.

I agree with Nitro.

Camshaft sensor would cause rough idle, no starts and heating. But would do nothing to the gauges.

Check the battery posts, terminals, leads, grounds and have the battery and alternator tested. its a power issue.

it's not overheating, just rough idle and jerking at times. Maybe i should replace the sensor anyway?

gonna check the posts, terminals and all those other things first though.

If you replace any sensors, you should specifically use Mopar parts. PT's don't like after-market anything when it comes to sensors/electronics.

Your friend is wrong. Do no replace things that don't need to be replaced. This is not a sensor problem, it's a power problem, as Nitro pointed out. Check your battery and connections, and check your alternator.

I also doubt the sensor but check for trouble codes to be sure. And while you're in a checking mode, check the plugs and plug wires. The dash lights and gauges acting up makes me think it's a low or failing battery. Place my bet there.

Perhaps it's the tires. After you've put in that new sensor, get some ....
