Default Overheating

My car has been overheating and we cant figure out why. We have changed the thermostat, the raiator, water pump, fan motor, flushed the system, thermo sensor, and the bleeder. I can hear the water boiling and it overheats. There is no water it the oil. Please help. I dont know what else to do.

NightWing,

People come here to try and fix their car before paying the exorbitant prices that the dealer wants to diagnose a problem and then some of them throw parts at the problem just hoping to fix it.

PTmom,

Is their any kind of leak anywhere showing that your loosing coolant? Is the system being bled for excess air after you fill it up? Are you using the A/C when it overheats and did you try turning on the heat inside the car to stop the gauge from going into the red? You changed the radiator fan but did you check to see if it's running when it starts to get hot?

What year is the car and what mileage do you have? You said you changed the water pump? That's a 5 to 7 hour job and quite expensive. Did you have the timing belt changed at the same time?

Yes, I understand people come here to learn what they could possibly do themselves. In this case, it appears that the owner has invested a fair amount of money in the car and the problem still exists. A dealer visit may have found the problem and cost less in the long run.

One post is enough to state your opinion.

Yes, the dealer might have saved him some money, but since he already put out quite a bunch, the forum members could possibly set him in the right direction without putting out too much more. With the dealer, he's starting off at around $100.00 just to look at it.

They didn't mention replacing the radiator cap!
This stock PT one on the left no longer seals which can add to an over heating problem.
