Default Need some specific detail about Radiator fan

Hi guys,

I received some information to an earlier thread I posted regarding my radiator fan being shot on my 2006 PT Cruiser Touring Edition. I'm buying a Dorman fan from RockAuto.com.

Some suggested I find the "Sticky" posted on how to test both your fan's speeds, but I can't find the "sticky's" for my model, and don't know if I have two speed fan or not, and I have no idea how to test to see which speed it is.

So my questions are:

1) How do I test what speed fan
2) What fan do I buy from rockauto.com, i.e. regular or turbocharged.
3) Can anyone provide the links on this website on how to install the fan, and check the fan speed, and what kind of fan I need, i.e., regular or turbocharged for my type of PT.
4) can you provide any other links, maybe that have answered these questions in detail.

Thanks for your help!

Respectfully,

Allen

If you have a turbo-charged engine then you need the "turbo variety" of fan.

If you do not have a turbo-charged engine you need the regular two-speed fan.

From the sticky:

How to test fan. 08 Air Conditioner Issue

How to replace. (It's listed for 01-05 but can't imagine it's radiacally different for the 06+): Removing the fan and housing 01-05 PT

Along with what was posted above it is not too bad of a job. My dad and I replaced the fan in my daughter's 06. Just take your time. The hardest part is getting those connectors apart.

In my 06, it was also necessary to remove the battery and battery tray. I got those instructions from Dorman.

We did too when we replaced the fan. Doesn't take long and really free's up some room.
