Post Problem with exhaust manifold lower heat shield

Hi everyone!

First time post! YAY!

I have always loved PT Cruisers.

Here is the current dilemma.

Removed the top part of the exhaust manifold heat shield with no problem except one. I broke the two bottom bolts and was trying to take bottom portion of shield off when I realized there is a bolt used for nothing that I can think of in the middle bottom shield. Anyone have any idea on where I can find a pic of how to uninstall and install the two shields back together?

Thanks.

Welcome from Hagerstown, MD.

we need more info. like year & model. I'm not sure if the n/a and turbo model heatsheilds are different <~DOH

You really dont need all of the bolts to hold the heatshields on. So if you broke 1 or 2 its not that big of a deal. But you do run the risk of rattling if some are missing. Someone will post a pic of them for you from the service manual I'm sure

Yep, broke one myself on the top. Still holds tight and no rattling.
