Default fuel cut off

I have a 2006 touring, non turbo. Last week, it would start but not continue running. We've replaced the fuel pump, and the crank position sensor. Still have the problem. Any suggestions would be SO welcomed. Thanks
M.

How long does it run? If it just a few seconds and then shuts off it is an issue with the key. The keys have chips in them and if the car doesn't recognize the key it won't run.

no, used different key. same results. it starts, runs, then runs out of fuel. When you turn on the key, you can hear the pump start, then you hear a "click" at the relay and the pump stops. then turn on the car, it runs then runs out of gas.

That's exactly what happens when the key isn't recognized.

Keys are not bad in this case. It's probably in the ignition switch area. No not often but has happened. Someone should chime in and give a more precise description of the steps to correct.

I got no input on the key thing, so I'll go with what I know. Did you check the fuel pressure at the rail?
I think a bad Fuel pressure regulator will produce the same symptoms?

Are the keys you're using the unchipped-type?

I know in most cases, one key is normally chipped whereas the spare isn't. My PT (as well as my friends) wouldn't stay on when the spare was used.
