Default Idle Quality

Evening all. I have posted before that I was not happy with the idle quality. A miss that is not a miss. I have posted several things that have helped the idle, but now I have fixed the idle to my satisfaction and wanted to share what I found.

Lets do this Nitro style!

Facts:
No CE light.
Does not stall.
No vacuum leaks.
Data logging shows all sensors operating within parameters.
Problem occurred after head gasket repair.
Gas mileage has fallen 3 MPG in the last 30 days.

Opinion:
After looking over the facts, the only thing that I thought would affect idle quality and gas mileage was the MAP sensor.

Facts:
I replaced the MAP sensor today.
Idle quality is PERFECT.
Data logging shows no significant change in any sensor parameter.

Opinion:
The MAP sensor was providing inaccurate readings, even though they were within factory parameters, causing the poor idle quality and poor fuel mileage. The fuel mileage is not yet proven.

My opinion has now been proven to be a fact.

Nitro I expect a response once you get up off the floor and stop laughing.

Ron

It really is a good thread funny but good.

Oh you forgot to add a couple of websites http's to back up your facts other wise a couple member's (2 specifically) will feel cheated that you don't give them something they will never click on and read?

I wish you had at least an Ultra gauge? it would be nice to compare some reading and situations.

Evening all. Just thought I would update the post to let you know that fuel mileage has increased 4.6 MPG since replacing the MAP sensor.

This now proves the second part of my opinion.

Because I am too lazy too Google it, as well as needing to add to my thread count, how much did the MAP sensor cost and where did you get it?

Pretty easy install?
