Default HELP !!!!

hi guys ,
my wifes 04 pt non turbo oil light comes on and dings when she comes to a stop light or stop sign and then goes off when she is going down the road, it is full of oil . oil pump ? cam bearin ? any advise would be greatly appreciated .

First, make sure the car is on level ground, then check the oil and make sure it's full. If it is, then I'd suggest checking the cable connection to the oil pressure sensor. Here it is:



Now you really need to look at the wiring to/from the sensor, sometimes it gets burned in spots. Also you can pull the sensor and clean it. If none of that works, then I'd suggest replacing it, but you really should roll by some place like Advance Auto and have them read your ODBii to see if you have any codes existing. You can try the key dance, but they read them for free so I'd suggest that first before removing anything.

turn the key on and off 3 times fast and look at the odometer

if you want to see something really weird, do it 5 times even faster

Just replace the sensor and check the wire while your at it. They are notorious for going bad. If you pull it just put a new one in. To cheap to bother cleaning.
