Angry Horn replacement

today i called the dealership to ask what it would cost to replace the horn. the first moron said they stopped making all parts for a 2005 cruiser, i asked to talk to his boss, his boss was dumbfounded at his crap employees answer to me.

wait it gets better.......

then he tells me the cost to replace the horn plus labor will be $350.00 and take 2 days!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL????????

i laughed at this guy and hung up. does it really cost that much to do a horn??

anyway how hard is it really to replace the horns?

you can get a used horn on ebay for around 14 bux. should be a 10 minute install. ya, that guy's on drugs.

pretty much ANY 12 volt car horn will do the job.

for those whove swapped the horn, is it necessarily to take tire off? or can it be done with tire on and turned??

I replaced the single horn on my 2004 with a new high-low pair.
As I remember, I only turned the wheel and loosened the forward end of the fender splash shield to move it out of the way.

I put a relay inline with mine, then added a chromed pair of hi/low note horns in the engine compartment and a Wolo BadBoy airhorn up front. Dayum does it honk!

I was reading some of the reviews on Amazon on the Wolo BadBoy, most love it but there is this guy who says the unit not water resistant, any problem with the rain on the location you installed yours? I been looking for a replacement from my wife's 2004 PT, the horn works, problem is nobody hears it

Can't stand the wimpy sounding horn on my 2004 Turbo and purchased two trumpet air horns to get some respect. First off, where is my damn horn located and do I tie into it or bypass the thing. Don't want to use separate horn button so could someone please explain how and where to tie into system. Thanks

The OEM horn(s) is located under front right fender, forward of tire, behind-below headlamp. Remove the fender-liner shield (can be done without removing wheel. Minimally the end needs to be loosened and gotten out of the way. There you can unplug the horn and splice as much wire as needed to reach your chosen horn location.
Photo attached shows space available behind bumper covers and my ahoogah horn.
