Default New to forum, Need help!

My wife has a 2004 H.O. Turbo model, pretty decent overall. It's fast, I'll give it that. I am a fairly decent old-school mechanic, i.e. carburetors, V8's and other gas guzzling nonsense.
So I was hoping for some help out here. Code thrown is P0320, crankshaft sensor sending bad info to the pcm. As far as the driveability goes, it stumbles hard around 2200 to 2800 rpms, and she had trouble getting it started last night (she got it by starting it in reverse backing down an incline, neutral switch would normally prevent that, so I'm confused as hell about that bit). Yesterday afternoon was when it first showed the code with no symptoms, so I reset it hoping it would go away. Came back after about 20-30 miles of driving and showed symptoms.
My main question is can the sensor be tested? and if ok, appropriate wiring/harness ok (I'll be trying to check that out as well), should I be worried about a bad flywheel throwing it out of balance, or anything else a bit easier? Car is well taken care of, battery was replaced recently (AC Delco 5 year), kept up on all other stuff as well. Thanks ahead!

I think it's your cam sensor. It's on the drivers side of the head. Two 8 mm bolts and a connector. I don't know any way to test. Not uncommon for these to go bad on modern ignitions. Far as the neutral switch, possible she was closer to neutral than reverse when that happened.

How would a failed cam sensor trigger a code for the crank sensor?

Ok, checked it out and now it throws a new code, P0340 which according to my scanner is the cam sensor sending bad info. Freeze frame showed the code thrown during cranking (RPM's about 250ish, low temps), with a -62 ignition advance on it. So I started it and gave it a bit of throttle, and it seemed to fail to bring the advance back up when letting go.
In an older car, the dizzy vac can is leaking, the dizzy springs are loose, or the advance plate is sticking. On this being a DIS, I am leaning towards the sensor being at fault. So I guess the prior post nailed it. Easy enough to get to, expensive little bugger though...

Cam and crank signals would both tell the PCM somethings out of phase. Maybe threshold signal difference?

Cam sensor failure is not an uncommon failure on modern day EFI cars. I'd go with the cam sensor first, that very well may fix it?

Replaced part, so far, so good!
Proper torque, turns out it doubles as the cam thrust bearing, efficient, like a swiss army knife, or at least the mexican rip-off version.
