Default Sway bar sticky?

I thought I saw a sticky about a petition going around on the rear sway bar. I talked to my dealer on this (please don't stone me for asking my dealer a tech question) he said the 2003-2004 models which is where the debate started Chrylser changed the desgin to incorporate a NEW bar which handles the same way as the previous sway bar. In other words we don't need it. True or False. Gary

Gary,

I didn't get in on that discussion because I have an 01 with the rear sway bar. It was tossed around quite a bit and I think there was a petition to sign on the home page of this forum but I don't see it anymore. Some owners had a rear bar installed on their PT by the dealer before Chrysler sent a message out to try and explain to the dealers exactly what they did. They even went so far as to print up new sticker/sheets without the rear sway bar mentioned so owners couldn't say they were missing. A lot of owners just went out and purchased their own aftermarket bar even though Chrysler said they didn't need it. Not exactly sure where the whole discussion is at this point.

Gary, I installed the Eibach anti-Roll kit. (contains front bar and hardware, and back bar). If you go this way, Eibach makes a hardware kit that has all of the extra parts needed for installation on a 2003/2004 that does not have a bar. The handling difference is amazing. Couple that with your new springs and you should be good to go.....

To your question - TRUE. That's the official Chrysler line. Trouble started when a sway bar was listed and owners discovered there wasn't any. I believe some owners got dealers to install them gratis.
Sorta like the Chrome wheels that got changed to chrome clad.

Alan, can you purchase just the rear sway bar? I thought the front was ok? Gary
