Default airbag light on (2006 model) crd

Had rear end shunt when I bought it,but no airbags deployed.Launch diagnostic picked up 2 active codes:

-U0184,lost communication with radio
-U0171,lost communication with restraints system sensor B

The double din original radio was stolen, replaced with after market one,the aie bag light goes out after starting, but comes on after 10 secs, can anyone tell me how to cure this

Thanks

Your "read end shunt" (crash) probably shook a few things loose, like the connection to one of the airbags. Same thing might be aplic-able (British pronouncation ) to the radio connection.

Try getting underneath both front seats amd make sure all connections to the air bags are tight.

The radio comes out without too much trouble and you can also look for a bad/loose connection for that.

Your right hand drive so it's a little different. The uTube shows how to remove the battery but of course yo don't have to go all the way. Just disconnect the cable.

Yea R/H drive ,and the battery is a Jell filled one,and located under the passenger seat, on its side.and the positive pole is easily accessible, but the negative is hard to see, surely havn't got to take the seat out to get the battery off??.With it off I can get to cleaning the under seat airbag connections, without dander off setting the air bags off. or just maybe take the positive terminal off

Hi , got the battery out from under the seat, big chrome strap undone with one big stud. Shuffled it out and undid the positive and negative terminals. Put the battery on charge, and replaced, no problem, strange having the battery on its side. Checked the air bag connections, and cleaned.Air bag light still on, will keep you posted ,going for front sensor , behind the drivers side head light, mounted on the radiator rail.Any help would come in handy!!!
